Enlightment Shelf is gone ;(

Postby F-Man » 31 Dec 2006, 14:27

Hi everyone, I am one of those new YDL users thanks to the PS3, so far things have been working great, until this silly annoyance...

I went to the shelf configuration and checked what I thought was the shelf display where it gets separated in parts across the top of the screen, but it just disappeared. And I don't know how to get it back. Any help?

Left click anywhere on the desktop >go to Configuration > Shelves > Add > Exit

Hope this helps

Thanks for reminding me of this.

However, as sure as I was that I was about to fix this, it turns out that ever since I've started using Gnome, I get the Gnome menu when right clicking on the desktop, even in Englightment. Now that's a terrible bug. :/

YDL 5.0 is configured to run nautilus in full screen mode on the first virtual desktop of E17. This is why you get the gnome menu. Move to any of the other virtual desktops to get your left click E17 menu. Once you have your shelf back, the yellow dog menu is the same menu.

Thanks, although I figured another way to get the menu. I pressed the menu button on my keyboard (next to right Ctrl). :P But thanks for the help anyway, and I'm glad to read this was not a bug. (but it is curious that the menu disappeared instead of getting separated into parts like it does under root)

Hi,
I've got the same problem. The little difference is that I got only one desktop and I already had the "left klick anywere on the desktop" idea. Nothing happened. Is there any other way? F-Man said something about a "menu button". Do you mean the "Windows-Key"? Because if you do, that did not work either.
Help please, I'm a bit lost on all that Linux stuff.
